HYBRID STREAM CLASS 1 - 8

At Helena River Steiner School, we recognise that every child's learning journey is unique. Some children experience challenges that make attending school five days a week difficult, yet still wish to remain connected to our school community and the rich curriculum we offer.

To support these families, we are introducing a Hybrid Stream in 2026. This flexible model allows students to attend school for a reduced number of days each week while continuing their learning at home, guided by a carefully designed and monitored program that reflects our Steiner philosophy and curriculum. Students will be assisgned a dedicated teacher who will oversee their learning at home, provide guidance to parents on curriculum and teaching approaches, and deliver the required lessons to ensure the student completes a program equivalent to full-time classroom learning.

The Hybrid Stream will:

  • Support students who experience challenges or circumstances that limit full-time attendance.
  • Provide structured in-person learning days that focus on core lessons, connection, specialist classes and artistic work.
  • Offer guided, home learning activities that complement classroom experiences and maintain the rhythm and integrity of Steiner education.
  • Enable families to remain part of the school community while ensuring their child's learning needs are met with care and flexibility.
This model reflects our commitment to meeting children where they are, by honouring their individual developmental needs, while maintaining connection, purpose, and joy in learning. For more information, contact enrolments.hr@hrss.wa.edu.au.
