Helena River Steiner School Indigenous Scholarships 2020

Helena River Steiner School is a new and growing school located in the heart of Midland, Western Australia. Our unique philosophy of education (Steiner Education) is an education model which embraces the future, serving the developmental needs of the whole child [head, heart and hands] through a focus on nature, music, art, the spirit world, and a strong emphasis on teaching through story telling.

Our school is proud to announce the Helena River Steiner School Indigenous Scholarship Program, which is currently offering six fully funded, fee-free scholarships for Indigenous students in 2020.

We are currently seeking applications from families, and also connections with members of the Noongar community who would be interested in sharing a relationship to help shape our new school into a community with a strong and living respect for Aboriginal culture.

We believe in the compatibility of Steiner education for Aboriginal people and culture, and that our curriculum and philosophies will empower Aboriginal children and improve their future outcomes.

We believe our lives and school community will be enriched through a partnership with Indigenous people, culture and knowledge and we believe Aboriginal children’s lives will be enriched by their experience of Steiner education.

We acknowledge the cycle of disadvantage that the original people of Australia have experienced since colonisation.

We acknowledge that we meet and work on Whadjuk Nyoongar boodja and wish for our school to be representative of the community in which we work and live.

To enquire about or apply for a full scholarship, Kindergarten to Year 6, in our new and growing school, with small class sizes and a nurturing and creative environment, please contact the school:
