Helena River Steiner School is overseen by a Board which meets monthly and is bound by a Constitution. Our Constitution can be accessed here.
The role of the Board is to supervise compliance with the relevant laws and regulations, assess and manage risk, govern finance and develop and maintain the strategic direction of the School.
The Board members are elected by the School Association during the AGM and govern for a two-year period. All fee-paying parents are members of the Association, as are staff and also members of the community willing to abide by the objects of the Association. All members of the Association are notified of the date for the AGM three weeks in advance and invited to attend.
Shashi has over 35 years of experience across different countries, institutions and sectors. His experience covers management, administration, people leadership, governance, strategic planning, envisioning, mentoring, oversight, seeking and enhancing funds, managing business risks and stakeholder relationships.
He has joined Helena River Steiner School to make a difference in the education of future generations through his intercontinental exposure and senior level experience.
Devi is skilled in customer service and problem-solving. She possesses an in-depth knowledge of Accounting and Payroll system implementation as well as Job Costing and Inventory and business client consulting.
She is passionate about community and finds helping others to be a deeply rewarding experience. Devi is part of the Helena River Steiner School Board to use her skills to help the school work towards its goals.

Gladstone has 40 years’ experience working in Government, Higher Education and Private Industry in the areas of Research and Mining Development. Mining and processing experience in managing people, reporting analysis of data, and working with multidisciplinary teams.
He believes that Rudolph Steiner's view of educating a child is true, and offering Steiner Education to as many children as possible will produce a freer, balanced and more engaged society in the future.
Peter has been a member of the Board and the Helena River Steiner School community since its inception and is aware of the need for Anthroposophy for the adults in the school community.
After attending high school in Midland he is keen to further establish a Steiner Educational offering in the Midland area.
Anna has more than 10 years’ financial audit experience in public and not-for-profit sectors plus over 5 years’ experience in managerial and leadership roles, extensive experience in financial statements internal controls and policy improvements. She is a strong analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills.
As a parent to a one-year old boy she is interested in exploring different educational philosophies and finds the Steiner Educational philosophy really inspiring. She has joined the Board to provide financial leadership and contribute to the school's ongoing growth.
Lisa is a dedicated finance professional in the public health sector providing analysis on financial information and leadership on financial costing reporting. She specialises in managerial accounting, analysing financial information and financial budgeting against activity-based performance.
She has joined the Helena River Steiner School Board to become more involved with the education sector and is gaining a deeper understanding of the Steiner philosophy for her daughter.
