In Term 1 of 2021, Helena River Steiner School realised its dream of adding a high school experience to its educational offering. This was an important milestone in our school’s growth. It ensured that current students could transition from their primary education to high school in a familiar environment without leaving the local area.
It was also important as it continued an educational philosophy that our families and students embraced and loved.
A Steiner (or Waldorf) education offers the same educational opportunities as a mainstream education. However, where it differs, is that is often delivered in a holistic environment. This environment encourages moral growth, social consciousness and citizenship, engaging the student’s head, hands and heart.
Further strengthening the school’s position within the community, we also have ambitious plans for the future. Plans for a new school campus is in advanced stages and we plan to open in 2022. Located centrally near our namesake, the Helena River, the new facility will feature modern amenities and room for further growth.
Helena River Steiner School has plans to expand their school even further with the addition of a class 9, and a proposed class 10, in Term 1, 2022. We warmly invite families from all educational backgrounds to a High School Information Evening. This free event is planned for Thursday, 29 July at 6.00pm and places can be booked here.
